Far-Reaching Decision

February 1, 2007     E-mail this page to a friend!

For the life of me, I can't figure out why the Fair committee could be so narrow minded as to vote against horse racing at the Western Montana Fair, right in the midst of the Governor stepping to the plate to save it. There are legislative changes taking place to solve the problems of having enough money to finance a successful horse racing industry in the state, and if we don't race in western Montana, how will we ever benefit from all the changes taking place?

We live between the Bitterroot Range and the Sapphire Range. It just can't get any better than this, but as a breeder of race horses, we will have to relocate to another state, just so our son of Black Tie Affair, our son of Seattle Slew, and our grandson of Seattle Slew can have access to the mares that their pedigrees demand.

Can't they see how far reaching a decision like this is? It will actually affect everyone in western Montana to take all of those dollars out of circulation.
