In a May 15 letter to Jockey’s Guild members, Jockey’s Guild National Manager Dwight Manley announced that the Jockey’s Guild Board of Directors had voted to increase Temporary Disability (TD) Benefits. Effective on June 1, 2007, TD benefits undergo the following changes:

In non-Workers’-Compensation states, the disability benefit will increase from the current payment of $100 per week to a benefit payment of $200 per week.

In Workers’-Compensation states, the disability benefit will increase from $50 per week to a benefit payment of $200 per week.

The vote by the board reverses last year’s financial resolution that decreased the disability program benefits in April, 2006.
