Portland, OR – November 19th’s Columbia Stakes for two-year-old males has drawn the consideration of 11 horses.

Leading the fray is the dominating Ex Mountain Cop who won the OTOBA Sales Stakes on October 22 over a fast track then cruised to an impressive 8 ¼-length victory in the Bill Wineberg Stakes over a surface labeled sloppy.

Owned by Maynard Davis and Charles Novak, Ex Mountain Cop is trained by Jonathan Nance. Nance also has Mylon Buck’s Baquero Ruler in mind for the event. He broke his maiden by seven lengths then finished third in the Bill Wineberg.

Jim Fergason nominated Just Horse In Around’s He’sabigtalker who won his lone try in a maiden allowance race on Nov. 6.

Robbie Baze, who trains Gunshy for the Estate of Gunshy Manor, entered the son of Flying Continental to the race. After three tries at Emerald, he won his first start over this oval.

Draw for the Columbia Stakes is on Friday, November 17.
