History-Making Horse to run for Championship next month

Amarillo, Texas, October 13, 2006 – Mogambo Fly VM arrived at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas, late Tuesday to prepare for the MBNA America® Challenge Championships (G1). The 5-year-old stallion will be the first Brazilian racehorse— in fact, the first South American horse— to compete in a Challenge Championship final event.

Mogambo Fly VM (Signed To Fly - Dafne VM by Apollo VM) will compete for a share of $300,000 in the Challenge Championship, November 11 at Lone Star Park. The 440-yard event represents the most lucrative of six divisions to be determined that evening.

The Sudimar Haras-owned runner qualified for the Challenge Championships by finishing second in the South America Challenge in Sao Paolo, Brazil, in November 2005, where he finished second by a nose to Princess Gloria RDA. Mogambo Fly VM has been training at Los Alamitos in California for the last month. He will face a field of stiff competition in the championship, taking on horses like A Long Goodbye, This Snow Is Cold and Apollitical Time, among others.
