Special events honor horses, trainers, jockeys and race fans

Boise, ID, Aug. 11 – Horse racing fans, trainers, jockeys, and horses were honored on closing weekend, August 11 and 12, of the 2006 live horse racing season at Les Bois Park in Boise Idaho.

Capitol Racing offered a full card of live Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse races both Friday and Saturday evenings. The weekend marked the closing of Capitol Racing’s first 46-day racing season at Les Bois Park.

“Our first racing season has flown by so quickly and we are extremely grateful for all of the support we have received from our horsemen, from Ada County and Fair Board Commissioners and most of all from our patrons and fans of horse racing here at Les Bois Park,” said Capitol Racing General Manager Alan Horowitz.

. Derby Cat, "Filly & Mare of the Meet"
. Fast Red Leggs, "Quarter Horse of the Meet"
. Reno Bound, "Claiming Horse of the Meet"
. Alex Jimenez, Leading Quarter Horse Jockey
. Berkley Packer, Leading Thoroughbred Jockey
. Bret & Stacey Vickery, "Leading Quarter Horse Trainers"
