Auburn, WA (July 14, 2006) - Lord Frederick won his third consecutive race at Emerald Downs on Friday night when taking the first leg of the Seattles Best Joe Memorial Marathon Series.

The 4-year-old son of Dance Floor, ridden by Gallyn Mitchell, broke from post eight in the 1 1/8 mile race while Dances With Eagles, under Jose Zunino, ran to the lead out of the gate and set fractions of 23 4/5 seconds for the quarter mile and 49 at the half.

Mitchell held Lord Frederick about three lengths off the pace on the backstretch, waiting until the half-mile pole to begin his move. "I let him creep up to the leaders on the backside," Mitchell said. "He'll do anything you ask. That's what makes him such a good horse."

At the quarter-mile pole, Lord Frederick accelerated powerfully and moved past the leaders. "Freddy told me it was time to go," Mitchell said. "He just broke. He's the kind of horse you just get a leg on each side and hang on."

Lord Frederick held off a late charge from Don'twritemeoff to prevail by nearly two lengths at the wire, covering the trip in 1:49 1/5. Lord Frederick paid $4.60, $3.80 and $2.60 for the win. Don'twritemeoff brought in $8.60 and $4.60 for second while Alcres George rang up $2.80 for show.

* The feature win was the second on the card for Mitchell. The jockey also won the fourth race with That Cahill Knight.

* Juan Gutierrez rode two winners on the Friday program, taking the fifth race with Fettles Klan and the eighth with Jordan Time.
