Los Alamitos Race Course - Azevedo, Boyles Family Trust, Horner and Muller's Finding Nemo, the PCQHRA champion 2-year-old colt in 2005, will make his anticipated sophomore debut in the trials to the restricted Grade 1 Governor's Cup Derby next Saturday, July 15, at Los Alamitos. The Governor's Cup Derby final will be held on Saturday, July 29 and will be one of the feature events on California Breeders Champions Night.

Finding Nemo will get top billing in the trials after a freshman season that included victories in the restricted Grade 1 Governor's Cup Futurity and Grade 1 Governor's Cup Derby. The son of Fishers Dash also ran third in the Ed Burke Million and Los Alamitos Million futurities. How will Finding Nemo perform in the trials after a seven month layoff?

"He is doing terrific," said trainer Denny Ekins. "We gave him a gate drill a few days ago and it was a tremendous gate drill. His ownership happy about him, we expect him to run well, and he is training up great considering he has not raced since last December. I don't know who will ride him as of right now but there are some top riders in the mix."
Bred by Finding Nemo won eight of 11 starts and earned $663,010 last year. He is out of the stakes winner Shahayla.
