Douglas, Wyo—Two Douglas, Wyoming couples have announced the formation of an equine sale management company and the dates of their first sales.

The two sales, one at Douglas during the State Fair on August 15 and the other in Gillette on September 18 in conjunction with the Fizz Bomb Barrel Racing Classic, will give horse breeders opportunities to market their horses at specialty sales in Wyoming during the 2004 summer.

Bob and Barb Daniels of K-Cross Quarter & Paint Horses, and Lee and Sherry Fields of Spear L Quarter Horses, organized Spear Cross Productions, LLC because, “We have attended so many out-of-state sales, and so enjoyed organizing the State Fair Sale last year, that we decided it was time to get serious about marketing for the equine industry in Wyoming,” said Barb Daniels. “There are many fine breeding programs in Wyoming that are not well showcased. We are proud and pleased to be developing sales that attract scores of horse enthusiasts to Wyoming.”

The Wyoming Breeders Sale at State Fair will be held at State Fair Park in Douglas on the opening Sunday of the Wyoming State Fair, August 15. The sale will be limited to horses consigned by Wyoming Appaloosa, Paint, Quarter Horse, and Thoroughbred breeders. Consignment deadline is June 15.

The Wyoming All Breeds Racing Association-sponsored Speed Horse Sale will be held September 18 in conjunction with the Fizz Bomb Classic barrel racing extravaganza at CAMPLEX in Gillette. Consignment deadline is July 18. The Speed Horse Sale is open to all consignors and breeds.

Spear Cross Productions, LLC will not be limited to managing horse sales.

“We will concentrate on horse or ag-related events at first,” said Lee Fields. “But with Sherry and Barb’s diverse backgrounds symposiums, competitive events and public relations for a variety of industries will be added to the company’s agenda over time.”
