Go Thru Fire wins shake for maiden spot

Los Alamitos Race Course - Ed Allred's Go Thru Fire, a filly by Walk Thru out of Go On Rona, won a shake over Wild Tac Special on Sunday, February 12, to earn the final berth to the 350-yard $140,000 Los Alamitos Maiden Stakes to be held on Saturday, March 4.

Go Thru Fire and Wild Tac Special had posted equal times of :17.71 in Saturday's trials to the Maiden stakes. Go Thru Fire moves on the final after running third to Jesses Sixes and Corona Facil in the trials.

The gray filly had won her previous start when covering 300 yards in :15.71. Bred by the owner, Go Thru Fire is a half-sister to Go On Secret, a two-time winner at Los Alamitos, and Ongoing Secret, who won a maiden claiming race here back on November 2004. Scott Willoughby trains Go Thru Fire.

The list of qualifiers to the Los Alamitos Maiden Stakes is as follows: Mongoose Separatist (:17.46), Strict (:17.56), Bugsy Beduino (:17.57), Mongoose Hawkette (:17.57), Jesses Sixes (:17.57), Corona Facil (:17.60), Redistricting (:17.61), Line Of Authority (:17.635), Im Alright Now (:17.705) and Go Thru Fire (:17.71).
