Dubai Horse Racing Carnival attracts International competitors

Dubai, Jan. 17, WAM (Emirates News Agency): The attention of horse-racing fans and experts will be focused on Dubai for the next 11 weeks as the city plays host to the most lucrative horse race on earth. More than 100 horses from 17 countries will run here for the (U.S.) $31 million awards of Dubai International Horse Racing Carnival 2006, which will kick off Thursday, January 19.

The Dubai International Racing Carnival encompasses 11 race meetings at Nad Al Sheba Racecourse beginning on January 19 and culminating with the $21,000,000 Dubai World Cup programme, the world’s richest race meeting, on March 25.

"It's really exciting to see such a big number of international competitors who picked up the gauntlet and brought in their best players", said Saeed bin Humaid Al Tayer, Chairman of Dubai Equestrian Club.
