Los Alamitos Race Course, Cypress, CA - Muller Racing LLC’s Ocean Runaway, the winner of the $500,000 Champion of Champions, will not run in The Championship at Sunland Park and instead his connections are making plans for the gray colt to travel to 6666 Ranch in Guthrie, Texas, where he will begin his stallion career in 2006.

“He won the Champion of Champions in his last race and today it was announced that he was named the Los Alamitos Horse of the Meet - that’s how we want him to go out,” said Gary Muller. “We asked a lot from the horse and he responded by doing everything that he was asked to do. We owe him too much and we’re not going to ask him for more.”

Ocean Runaway is still on the grounds at Los Alamitos Race Course but he is expected to leave the track sometime next week.

“We have a type of van in mind that we want to use, and it’s taking us a couple of extra days to get all his travel arrangements straightened out,” Muller added. “We want it to be a straight through drive. We’ll take our time to make sure he gets the best possible trip.”

Ocean Runaway has been the Los Alamitos Horse of the Meet in each of the last two years. Prior to Ocean Runaway, the last horse to be named Horse of the Meet in consecutive years was Refrigerator in 1992-93.
