Cascade County Commissioners in Great Falls, Montana accepted a proposed live racing schedule of seven days for the 2006 season, as recommended by the Montana ExpoPark Board, at their regular meeting on Tuesday, October 11.

Race dates will be requested officially to the Montana Board of Horse Racing by November 1 as required.

The dates requested are July 15, 16, 22, 23 and 28, 29 and 30. The final three days are dates concurrent with the opening weekend of the Montana State Fair.

The 2005 race meet is showing a loss of approximately $69,000 for the 10-day season.

Due to the uncertainty of a state-wide live horse racing plan for 2007 and beyond, Cascade County Commissioners did not commit at this time to live racing in the Electric City beyond the 2006 season.
