464 Consigned to Los Alamitos Equine Sale

LOS ALAMITOS RACE COURSE, CYPRESS, CA... A total of 464 horses, featuring the finest bloodlines in Quarter Horse racing, have been consigned to the Los Alamitos Equine Sale to be held on Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2.
      The catalog is set to feature 310 Quarter Horse yearlings, 116 broodmares and 38 horses of Mixed Stock. The top sires in the sport will be featured at the sale, including 18 yearlings sired by all-time leading Quarter Horse stallion First Down Dash.
      The sale will also feature 20 yearlings by red-hot superstar stallion Separatist, the sire of Rainbow and Ruidoso Derby winner DM Shicago and Governor's Cup Futurity finalist Centerist, and five yearlings by freshman stallion Walk Thru Fire, the sire of Ed Burke Million Futurity winner Higher Fire and Kindergarten Futurity winner Gold Nugget Rd.   
      Sons and daughters of stallions Corona Cartel, Special Effort, Chicks Beduino, Strawfly Special, Fishers Dash and many other stars will also be represented at the sale. 
        Ed Allred and Vessels Stallion Farm, two of the most important breeders in Quarter Horse racing history, in conjunction with the Pacific Coast Quarter Horse Racing Association will run the Los Alamitos Equine Sale, which will feature a beautiful new sales venue plus upgraded barn stalls for all horses in the sale.
       "To have 464 horses shows that consignors have confidence on the new venue and they are optimistic about what we want to do," said Allred. "We are going to have a very exciting catalog and two big sale days. The consignments look strong and buyers will have a great variety to choose from."
        Allred, a record nine-time AQHA champion breeder, has consigned 55 yearlings and 31 broodmares to the sale. His yearlings include an unnamed colt, which is a half-brother to champions Hawkinson and Hawkish.   
        Top Quarter Horse breeders from around the nation will be represented at the Equine Sale, including legendary Hall of Fame breeders/owner Spencer Childers. His 18-horse consignment includes a Bono Jazz filly named Be A Sister, who is a full sister to reigning World Champion Be A Bono. Daniel Lucas, the reigning AQHA Champion Breeder, will have four yearlings in the sale, headed by a full-brother to 2004 champion 2-year-old Ocean Runaway and Wave Carver, who is a two-time futurity finalist this year. Trisk is the name of this royally bred colt sired by First Down Dash and out of the broodmare Runaway Wave. Lucas will also offer for sale a pair of colts out of millionaire champion Corona Kool.   
        Vessels Stallion Farm, the 1999 AQHA champion breeder, has consigned 36 yearlings. Corona Por Favor, a full sister to champion Corona Kool and stakes winner Corona Cocktail, and Harems Legacy, a son of First Down Dash out of the blue-hen mare Harems Choice, heads the Vessels consignment. Corona Por Favor is a filly by First Down Dash out of Sizzling Lil.
       Harems Legacy, meanwhile, is a full-brother to 1991 champion 2-year-old and All American Futurity winner Royal Quick Dash; champion 2-year-old First Sovereign and Los Alamitos Million Futurity winner A Regal Choice.
       Vessels Stallion Farm's consignment will also feature Jess Hateful, a half brother of 2004 champion 2-year-old filly Hardly Hateful; No Mas Corona, a Fishers Dash colt also out of Sizzling Lil; a full-brother to millionaire champion Your First Moon; and a colt out of Your First Moon by Separatist.
       Double Bar S Ranch has consigned 10 yearlings and eight broodmares, including an unnamed colt that is a half-brother to two-time World Champion Tailor Fit. 
      Other breeders with multiple consignments include Abigail Kawananakoa, Mike Abraham, J. Garvan Kelly, Jose Santos, EG High Desert Farms, Steve Burns, Anjora Corp, Hector Padilla, Anita Bramlette, Stern Ranches, Hayden Brothers Ranch, Martha Wells, Scott Merrill, Pazazz Quarterhorses, Angel Tiscareno and Vinewood Farms.
