Commissioners seek to expedite return of live racing

Ada County Commission, Boise, July 26—Ada County has assumed possession of Les Bois Park after District Judge Joel Horton signed an order to remove Lariat Productions, Inc., from the premises. The court entered a default judgment for unlawful detainer and breach of contract against Lariat Productions, Inc., Arnell Jones and Lanae Jones. The Court also dismissed the complaint that Lariat Productions had filed against Ada County.

“This has been a long ordeal and we are delighted the Court ruled on this matter,” said Chairman Rick Yzaguirre. “We will make every attempt to expedite the return of live racing to Les Bois Park. Ada County can now explore all of our options and move forward on behalf of the community and horse racing industry.”

Live horse racing will take place during the Western Idaho Fair on August 26, 27 and 28, 2005 and simulcasting will be offered from August 15-31, 2005. The Western Idaho Fair runs from August 19 through 28, 2005.
