Jerome racing features Dutch Masters III Futurity

Three days of live horse racing at the Jerome County Fair in Jerome, Idaho were conducted June 18, 19 and 25, with five stakes contests highlighting the race card on the final day. Three of the stakes carried purses of $10,000 and up.
The $13,050 Dutch Masters III Futurity was contested over 350 yards and was a gate-to-wire performance with a neck victory for Cg Cowboy Doc, a gelded son of Cowboys Rodeo out of Trus Merridoc Miss, by Merridoc, owned by Frances Priest, trained by Dick Walker and ridden by Loecca Margrave. Winning time for the course was :18.051 for a speed index of 94.
Cg Cowboy Doc earned $5,873 for this win. He was bred by Del Roy and Lerene Hanson in Idaho.
Sheza Gator was second best all the way, earning $2,610 for the effort with Paul Green in the irons. Sheza Gator is owned by Jose Luis Pulido and trained by Chet Child. Mr Lucky Fame was third with Shad Holdaway at the helm to earn $1,305 for owner Lee Sorneson and trainer Tim Holdaway.
