Western Montana Fair Meet

July 12, 2005     E-mail this page to a friend!

Despite rumors to the contrary, live horse acing at the Western Montana Fair in Missoula will be held as usual this August. Six straight days of racing will be conducted August 9 through 14.

Perhaps rumors started because some of the barns have been removed--before they fell down. Plans are to replace buildings on the back side and improve the facility, but these plans will not be accomplished in time for this summer's meet.

Portable stalls will replace all the stalls that have been removed and there will be enough stalls for all the horses that are at the meet. The portable stalls are bigger than the old stalls and will be an improvement over the old barns that were removed.

Missoula is running with the same purses structure as last year. Extra portables stalls are coming, there is no camping charge, and there are no shavings cost to horseman.

Plans are to have a blow-out meet. Donít miss the fun at Western Montana Fair!
