AQHA MBNA America Challenge Race rescheduled

Amarillo, Texas, June 14 – The American Quarter Horse Association has announced that the MD Barns California Distance Challenge race will move from July 2, 2005 to October 1, 2005 at Los Alamitos Race Course in Los Alamitos, California.

“We made the decision to reschedule the race to allow more American Quarter Horses to enter, which will open the race up to prospective Challenge qualifiers,” said AQHA Senior Director of Racing, Trey Buck. “Changing the date of the race will help provide a quality field in the California region.”

New payment deadlines are as follows:
$200 Nomination Fee due: July 23, 2005
$600 Sustaining Fee due: August 24, 2005
$2,500 Late Fee Due: August 24, 2005
Trials to be run: September 15, 2005
Final to be run: October 1, 2005

The MBNA America Racing Challenge is American Quarter Horse racing’s richest program. A total of 58 races take place in 10 regions across the United States, Canada and Mexico throughout the year. American Quarter Horses compete in one of six different types of races, depending on their age and ability. This year’s MBNA America Challenge Championships will take place on November 5 at Los Alamitos Race Course.
