Los Alamitos to host NHC qualifying contest on October 29

The Los Alamitos Quarter Horse Racing Association will offer a cash prize and two seats to the 2017 Daily Racing Form/National Thoroughbred Racing Association National Handicapping Championship (DRF/NTRA NHC) in Las Vegas with a live-money contest on Saturday, October 29, featuring the AQHA Bank of America Challenge Championships.

The cost to enter the tournament is $300. Of that amount, $50 will be placed in the contest prize pool with the remaining $250 going towards a live-money wagering card.

Tournament races will include the entire Los Alamitos night-racing card with permitted wagers limited to win, place, show, and exactas. Each entry must bet at least $50 on five races, but there is no limit on the amount of races each entrant can play.

The player with the highest bankroll at the end of the day will be declared the winner. The winner will receive 40% of the prize pool. The remaining payoffs: 25% for 2nd, 20% for 3rd, 10% for 4th, and 5% for 5th. The top two finishers will also receive entry, including airfare and hotel accommodations, into next year's DRF/NTRA NHC in Las Vegas.

The Bank of America Challenge Championships features an all-stakes card of Quarter Horse racing featuring $1.1 million in purses. The racing card will feature five graded stakes races three of them Grade 1 Quarter Horse stakes.
