Betty Elizabeth Cosby

Betty Elizabeth (Harris) Cosby, 75, of No. 20 3rd Street North in Great Falls, a retired business owner, died of natural causes April 19 at her home.

Betty was born September 2, 1929 in Sheridan, Wyoming, where she graduated from high school. She married Harry R. Cosby on February 5, 1955 in Sheridan.

After moving to Great Falls, she and Harry founded and operated Fire Appliance and Supply and Alarm Service until her retirement four years ago.

Betty was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed Bingo. She and Harry loved horseracing, and spent many race days at their table in the Paddock Club. Harry passed away in January 1997, and Betty continued attending the horse races as long as she was able.

Survivors include daughters Shirley (Roger) Forbes and Evelyn (George) Forsyth of Great Falls; a son, Robert (Debbie) Cosby of Great Falls, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation was private. Graveside services were held Friday, April 22 at Highland Cemetery in Great Falls followed by a reception at the Rainbow Retirement Home. Croxford Funeral Home and Crematory handled arrangements.
