Star jockey Carlos Huerta returns to the saddle for the first time this year when he pilots Stel Easy in the sixth race and London Laura in the seventh on Friday, March 25, at Los Alamitos Race Course. First post time for the eight-race program is 7:00 p.m. local time

Huerta, the second leading Quarter Horse in 2015, won 14 stakes races last year. His top mounts including the champion Quirky and multiple derby winners Forget It and Bac And Front. He was involved in a spill on December 11—the night before the Champion of Champions. He broke vertebrae numbers 7,8,9 and as a result missed out on riding Quirky in the Champion of Champions and Sale Topper in the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity two days later.

Huerta will be all smiles when he gets the call aboard a couple of Ed Allred owned and Scott Willoughby trained horses. Stel Easy will be making his first start since running third in his career debut back in late August. Stel Easy posted an easy 350-yard gate work on February 13 in preparation for this race. Huerta will also ride London Laura in the seventh. The Walk Thru Fire filly was unraced in 2015 and now makes her second start after finishing third in her career debut. She’ll be taking on a field that includes recent maiden runner-up Priggish.

The featured event on Friday is the $11,025 allowance feature. The field will include El Primero Del Ano Derby finalist Tango In Cash, which has finished second in his last four starts. Tango In Cash ran second in the A Ransom and Cypress handicaps. BF Heros Legacy defeated allowance rivals like High Class Cartel in his last outing and now takes on that save rival on Friday.
