Sun Downs in Kennewick, Washington, is already open for training, in advance of their six-raceday meeting that begins on April 23.

Stalls are available. "We're only about half-full so far," said Nancy Sorick, Manager of Sun Downs, "so there's still plenty of space. It's important to call in to reserve stalls."

To contact Sun Downs for stalls, call Lyle Magnuson at (509) 969-5483 or Jackie Smith at (509) 531-5919.

"It's normally a fight right up to April" added Sorick, describing run-ins with the County administrators who oversee the property. "We just signed a three-year contract with the County, so those days are in the past."

"The track is in just beautiful condition," Sorick concluded.

Opening day at Sun Downs is April 23, with weekend racing April 23-24, April 30-May 1, and May 7-8.

Trials for the $30,000 (est.) Abigail Kawananakoa Pot O' Gold Futurity—the track's signature event—are scheduled for April 24, with the final on closing day, May 8.
