Kaweah Bar, two more juvenile races on tap

Los Alamitos Race Course, Cypress, CA--Planet Holland, Meteoric, and Not For Long, three of the classiest horses on the grounds, are among the eight older horses that will race in the Grade 3 $27,250 Kaweah Bar Handicap at 350 yards on Friday, April 8. The Kaweah Bar field has combined for career earnings of $1.5 million and 44 victories.

A pair of races for 2-year-olds will also be featured on the 10-race card. The first juvenile race will be headed by the Corona Cartel filly Love My Corona, who drilled 220-yard in :12.10, while Two Corona Special, a colt out of champion millionaire Corona Cash, will headline the other juvenile race. He recently drilled in :12.40.
Burns, Geiler, Kessinger, Jones and Ramich Farmsí Meteoric will carry highweight of 125 pounds when he breaks from post six in the Kaweah Bar. The Chicks Beduino gelding will enter this race after finishing a close second to Pennants Chick in the Carmel Handicap on March 11. Meteoric, who has earned $574,393 while winning 13 of 24 starts, will be looking for his stakes win at Los Alamitos. Cody Jensen gets the return call aboard the 5-year-old brown gelding.

Holmes, Hubbard, and Jones Jrís Planet Holland enters this race off a troubled ninth place finish in the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Winter Championship on February 26. Planet Holland, a career winner of $559,946 and seven races, exchanged bumps throughout the Winter Championship and was never able to show his best. Heíll be coupled in the wagering with Winter Championship finalist Latest Version.

Not For Long, winner of the Grade 1 Golden State Derby and Governorís Cup Derby, will also carry 124 pounds. Appeals King Special, Corona Captain, Truley B Jolly, Self Assertive will also race.
