If you think you're going to get a handicapping edge in the $15K Bucking Horse Sale Futurity on Sunday, May 17, by analyzing trainer stats, think again.

No, the printers didn't forget the names of the other trainers in Miles City, there just aren't any other trainers in the Futurity this spring. Mike Taylor's horses took all eight slots in the gate.

In three trials held on May 10, Taylor-trained horses took the top three spots in each, from the nine horses he sent to post.

Bettors who bought $2 quinella, exacta, and trifecta boxes on the Taylor horses picked up $372.60, but they can't rely on that strategy in Sunday's race.

Ray Norgaard and Ralph Young's Montana-bred Jessflipacoin, by Jess My Moon out of Smart Dawn (by First Smart Money), leads the way in the final, after posting a 1-length win over the second-fastest qualifier*mdash;Young's Jess My Apollo.

Jessflipacoin is the morning-line 8-to-5 favorite, and could be lower if not for his foes' hot trainer.
