Francisco Vega’s Bac In Front will put her perfect 2015 record on the line when she faces six male horses in the $25,000 Dillingham Handicap on Saturday, May 16 at Los Alamitos Race Course. First post time for the nine-race program is 6:00 p.m.

Ridden by Carlos Huerta for trainer Jaime Gomez, Bac In Front will go into the Dillingham at 400 yards with an unblemished record of four wins from four starts this year. The Foose filly won the Grade 3 La Primera Del Ano Derby against fillies in her last outing and before that she posted the fastest qualifying time to the derby after an impressive 1¼-length victory. Bac In Front has finished in the top three in all nine career starts. Gomez is confident that the 400-yard distance in the Dillingham will benefit his filly. "I like her because she finishes strongly each time," Gomez said. "She knows how to close."

Bac In Front had to fight to win the La Primera. She was fifth at the start and needed every bit of her talent to catch Take A Look, who returned to win the La Pacifica Handicap on Saturday.

“She didn't break as sharply as she's done before,” Huerta explained. “She was very relaxed in the gate and when it opened Take A Look just flew out of there. I was urging her with my right, but when I switched the stick to my left hand that's when she took off.

Bac In Front will face Juan Humberto Moya’s colt Amber Bock, the winner of the Separatist and Santa Ana Handicap in his last two outings. El Primero Del Ano Derby finalists HRH Walkonfire, Hot Shot, Famous Bank, and On A Corner will also race. Closing Time, who has hit the board in five straight races, will complete the field.
