The AQHA National Poll debuted this week for 2015 and Matabari made a triumphant return to the rankings at No. 1. A top stakes performer at ages 2 and 3, she missed most of her 4-year-old campaign, but served notice in the Los Alamitos Winter Championship (G1) on February 15 that she’s back in a big fashion.

Matabari led a Top 10 that saw both Moonist and Ynot Walk garner serious attention for the top spot, but settle in at No. 2 and 3, respectively. Reigning champion 3-year-old Moonist missed by a head in the Los Alamitos Winter Championship as the odds-on favorite and figures to build on a huge sophomore campaign in which he won four major Derby finals. This season's top early 3-year-old Ynot Walk captured the Los Alamitos Winter Derby (G1) and paces the sophomore class at this stage.

Juveniles will be added to the poll later in the spring. Balloting for the AQHA poll is conducted weekly by an 11-member national panel of experts.
