Garden City, home to Les Bois Park at the Western Idaho Fairgrounds, is opposing the addition of parimutuel wagering on historic races at Les Bois Park. This new wagering option was approved by the 2013 Idaho legislature, and has been assessed to be a major funding opportunity for the horseracing industry in the state. Les Bois Park will be the first facility in the state to host historic, or "instant," racing.

Idaho HBPA president Mark Buckley and Idaho Racing Commission executive director John Sheldon invite Idaho horsemen and other interested parties to attend and give comment at a public meeting about the issue.

To learn more about plans for Les Bois Park, come to the public meeting on Tuesday, November 26. Treasure Valley Racing LLC officials will make a public presentation on the benefits of instant racing during the public meeting, which starts at 6:00 p.m. in the main floor hearing room of the Ada County Courthouse, 200 W. Front St., Boise. On-street parking is free after 6:00 p.m.
