The Idaho Quarter Horse Association, Racing Division, has announced that nominations for the 2005 Bitterroot Futurity (RG2) have been reopened to accept entries with no late fee until March 1.

Any horsemen that have paid late fees to date will have those additional fees returned. The IQHA has made this decision to ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate in the new 2005 Capitol Racing $250,000 Bonanaza.

The $250,000 Bonanza is a bonus to be paid to the winner of the three following two-year-old contests offered at the City of Trees oval: The Bitterroot Futurity (RG2) run May 30, the AQHA Ford Juvenile Challenge run July 2, and the new $20,000-added Les Bois Quarter Horse Futurity to be run August 14.

The 2005 Bitterroot Futurity (RG2) for Quarter Horses will hold a $70,000-guaranteed purse, the total purse of which is estimated at $160,000. Trials will run May 14 and 15.

The AQHA Ford Juvenile Challenge trials will run June 18. A minimum $20,000-added is guaranteed to the purse.

The new Les Bois Quarter Horse Futurity will fill in the gap created by the demise of the traditional John Hoag Futurity. The new 350-yard race is Open to the World, with first payment due March 15.
