Top names in action in 11 Breeders Futurity trials on Saturday

Major futurity placed sprinters Unchangeable, She Forgives and Moonist are among the 90 freshman sprinters that will compete in one of the 11 trials to the $435,000 PCQHRA Breeders Futurity on Saturday at Los Alamitos. This yearís purse represents an increase of 11% from the purse of the 2012 Breeders Futurity. The Breeders Futurity final will be held on Satuday, October 5.

Ron and Ronnie Kellerís Unchangeable was second by nose in the prestigious Grade 1 $1,111,000 Ed Burke Million Futurity. The gelding by Stel Corona announced his arrival with a daylight maiden victory on May 25 and then ran second to fastest qualifier Turbulent Times in the trials to the Ed Burke Million. He battled gamely in the Ed Burke final and just missed against the undefeated Five Bar Cartel. Eddie Garcia will ride the Ed Allred-bred Unchangeable for trainer Rafael Orozco in the sixht of 11 trials. This heat trial will also feature Paul Jones and Thompson Racing, Incís Foose Is Loose, who ran in both the Kindergarten and Ed Burke Million finales.

Dutch Masters IIIís She Forgives has also participated in a pair of major futurities this year for trainer Jaime Gomez. The brilliant filly ran second in the Kindergarten Futurity and also competed in the Ed Burke Million. Sheíll be going after her fourth win in six career starts when she heads the field in the second trial of the night. Javier Molinaís Flying Housewife, a full sister to Ed Burke Million winner Five Bar Cartel, will also be in action in this event, as will be Linda Cannonís Stel Hawk, the winner of the $25,000 California Breeders Freshman Stakes.

Ron Hartleyís Moonist ran second to Up For It in the Governorís Cup Futurity after posting one of the top qualifying times. The John Cooper-trained runner has scored two blowout wins in his career and looks to be improving with each outing. Alex Bautista will ride the Separatist gelding from post number three in trial number three.

Other top names competed in the futurity trials are More Than Wild, the fourth place finisher in the Governorís Cup, and Hot Capuccino, who was third in the Kindergarten. Ed Burke Million Futurity finalists Masherati B, Docs First Fire and Composed Charisma will also race as will Greg Torgersonís Joe Legacy, the winner of the Ed Giles Futurity, and Separate List, the winner of the Idaho Cup Futurity.
