Itís not often that a stakes race worth $28,000 at Les Bois Park takes second stage, but that is just what is shaping up for Saturday. The 1st race for the nine race program is at 5:30, and while the $28,000 Quarter Horse Maturity offers the richest purse of the evening, an appearance by local superstar Paris In April in the 8th race allowance dash will garner a lot of attention.

Owned by Paul Treasure of Middleton and Larry Chapple of Idaho Falls, Paris In April has won all five of her local starts over the past two years and each time was never seriously challenged. Her most recent victory was an easier-than-it-looked 3ĺ-length win in the Ladys Secret Handicap, a race she has won the past two years. Joe Crispin, one of the top riders at the current meet, will get his first chance to ride the filly, who has been established as the 3-to-5 morning-line favorite to defeat her five rivals.

A challenge could come from Kenny Robertsonís Bellachaza, whose only loss in six starts on the track came in her maiden voyage. Dirk Crane gets the mount for trainer Gary Simpson. Bellachaza is the 5-to-2 second-favorite.

The $28,000 Quarter Horse Maturity may have become a wide open affair as fastest qualifiers Iíll Be A Dasher and One Famous Secret drew the one and 10 posts respectively. Traditionally, those post positions have been the toughest to win from at Les Bois Park and that may have opened the door for the mother-son team of trainer Susan Hadley and jockey Jordan Hadley as they drew post nine with trial winner Hadleys Choice. So far this season the mother/son team has combined to win with nine of 17 starters.
