Saturday will be one of the busiest days of the year at Les Bois Park, as the action gets underway early and continues throughout the afternoon. First post is at 2:00 p.m., but before that, there is a special free handicapping seminar—The Professor’s Picks and Pans—which gets underway at 11:00 a.m. in the Clubhouse.

Hall of Fame trainer Jack Van Berg, who conditioned Kentucky Derby winner Alysheba, will give his insights into horseracing. Handicapper Chris Kotulak also joins “The Professor” in taking a look at the day’s racing program.

Van Berg also presents his autobiography Jack, from Grit to Glory with a book-signing near the winner's circle. “The life and remarkable accomplishments of Jack Van Berg is a testament to discipline, respect and commitment,” said Kotulak. “Jack lived throughout a golden age of horse racing, trained champions, broke records and became a Hall of Fame trainer.”

The nine-race live program is highlighted by a pair of stakes races for Idaho-bred 3-year-olds. Trainer Dru Hall and jockey Dirk Crane appear to hold the winning cards in both races. Really A Charmer has been installed as the 6-to-5 favorite to win the colts and geldings division, while Bankers Brat is also the 6-to-5 morning line choice in the fillies division.

Special guest and recording artist Liza G. Fly will be performing live on track throughout the race day.
