$40,000 in purses will be distributed to the quick horses in four Rocky Mountain Spring Classic races at Pocatello Downs.

On Saturday, the Paints and Appys are in action in the $3,750 Rocky Mountain Paint & Appy Derby and the $7,250 (estimated) Rocky Mountain Spring Classic Paint & Appy Futurity.

In the Futurity, first-time starter Bg One Quick Chick has been installed as the morning-line favorite, but Kj Cash, who won here on May 5, should have a say in the outcome. Dallas Erickson rides Bg One Quick Chick for trainer Bryan Grant, while Jesus Flores rides Kj Cash for trainer Glen Jamison.

Sunday’s feature is the $27,500 Rocky Mountain Spring Classic Quarter Horse Futurity at 330 yards, the 7th race on the card. The fastest ten from six trials held here on May 6 include winners Rnl Need A Move—the fastest qualifier and morning-line 6-to-5 favorite—My Fair Dashair, Austins Flyer, Hawkeyes Warrior, and Fly N Bye.

Rnl Need A Move is trained by Ron Moosman and ridden by Uriel Dominguez, the trainer-jockey team that qualified four of their eight Bitterroot Futurity trials entrants for the finals.

The Futurity Consolation, the 5th race, also drew a fine field of seven.
