The number of Triple Crown-eligible horses rose from 398 to 418 on March 24, as the late-nomination window closed with the addition of 20. 418 is the third-highest total in history, after the 460 recorded in both 2007 and 2008.

The late-nomination payment amount was $6,000, up significantly from the “regular” nomination payment of $600.

One filly—Pick And Choose—joined five geldings and 14 colts (all listed below) as late-nominees.
