Portland, OR - Beginning January 1, 2005, Portland Meadows Racetrack will change its racing schedule. With the new race days marked as Saturday, Sunday and Monday, this schedule will eliminate Friday night racing for the remainder of the meet (through April 24).

Post time all three days will be at 1:05 p.m.

"Adding Sunday afternoon racing to our schedule enables more families to come out and enjoy the races," said General Manager Christopher Dragone. "We're optimistic that the change will be welcomed by the local racing fans."

Monday racing will continue. Since its inception, export handle has increased significantly. In fact, it was on Monday, December 6, that Portland Meadows saw its highest one-day handle in nearly 20 years, with a total of $737,302 wagered.

An additional reminder that Portland Meadows will race live the day after Christmas, Sunday December 26, with a 1:05 p.m. first post.
