The National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) announced today that two NHC Super Qualifiers—offering a total of 20 seats at the $2 million (estimated) Daily Racing Form/NTRA National Handicapping Championship Presented by Sovereign Stable (NHC)—will be held over the July 4th holiday weekend at Monmouth Park in Oceanport, N.J., and at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, Calif. Each Super Qualifier will offer 10 spots to the National Handicapping Championship, which will be held next January at Treasure Island Las Vegas.

The Monmouth Park NHC Super Qualifier will be held on Saturday, July 2. The entry fee is $250, and participants will be required to compete with an additional live bankroll of $150. Participants may buy multiple entries. Additional information, including contest rules, will be available soon at www.Monmouthpark.com.

The Hollywood Park “Firecracker” NHC Super Qualifier will be held over two days—Sunday, July 3 and Monday, July 4. The entry fee is $300, and participants will be required to compete with an additional live bankroll of $150. Participants may buy multiple entries, and entries will be capped at 500. Additional information, including contest rules, is available at www.Hollywoodpark.com.

“We’re delighted to announce the first of what we hope will be a number of Super Qualifiers held over the latter half of 2011,” said Keith Chamblin, Senior Vice President of the NTRA. “We thank Monmouth Park and Hollywood Park officials for their willingness to partner in these attractive tournament offerings.”

Before the start of contest play, all participants in the Super Qualifiers must have paid a one-time, annual NHC Tour membership fee of $45 in order to be eligible to compete at the NHC. Individuals may sign up for the NHC Tour at www.NTRA.com/register/NHCTour.
