Yellowstone Downs has extended its nomination deadlines for several races from the previously published June 15 to a new date—June 30.

Yellowstone Downs officials submitted their request for eight days of live racing way back on November 1, the original deadline set by the MBoHR for racetrack requests for dates. That deadline was extended several times as the Board worked on solving other issues that arose when Montana Entertainment, operators of two racetracks and Montana's simulcast network, left the state.

Race dates were finally approved on June 13. Yellowstone Downs is officially scheduled to run eight days from August 27 to September 18, anticipating $2,000 bottom purses, except trials.

Six races require nomination, two each for Quarter Horses, Thoroughbreds, and Paints & Appys:

Yellowstone Downs Quarter Horse Futurity (estimated purse: $35K)
Yellowstone Downs Quarter Horse Derby (est. purse: $21K)
Thoroughbred Futurity (est. purse: $15K)
Thoroughbred Derby (est. purse: $10K)
Paint & Appy Futurity (est. purse: $15K)
Paint & Appy Derby (est. purse: $10K)

The nominating fee is $100.00. Nominating forms are available in the June issue of TRJ—The Racing Journal (on page 21) and also at the Yellowstone Downs website (http://www.yellowstonedowns.com/. Stall applications and stabling agreements are also available on the website.
