Horse racing enthusiasts will be pleased to know that The Turf Club at Fort Hall Casino is now open! Doors officially opened on Wednesday, May 4, just in time to celebrate the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs.

The Grand Opening of the Turf Club is scheduled for this Saturday, May 21. The Turf Club at Fort Hall Casino will be the first of its kind in eastern Idaho.

“It is a huge day for live horseracing in Idaho”, said Jim Bernard, General Manger of Intermountain Racing & Entertainment, LLC. “The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes at Fort Hall Casino have been instrumental in making an off-track betting facility a reality. We are happy to be a part of this project.”

Saturday's Grand Opening, celebrating the Preakness Stakes—the second leg of the Triple Crown—will begin with a ribbon cutting at 10:45 a.m., and doors will open to the Turf Club at 11:00 a.m. The Buffalo Horn Grill will cater the event, and door prizes will be available to everyone who places a bet. Additional seating will be available in the Bingo Hall with additional TV’s to view the races.

“I would like to welcome all the communities to partake in our new and exciting off-track wagering. The Turf Club is where it’s at! We look forward to placing your wager,” Peggy Dixey, Turf Club Manager.
