Owners and trainers at Rillito Park in Tucson, Arizona, redefined the term “stuffing the entry box” for the Park’s second weekend of their 2011 season. Their eight-horse gate will see eight horses in all 17 races over the weekend—nine races on Saturday and eight races on Sunday.

The featured 8th race on Saturday is the $8,400 John Deere/Rillito Park Bonus Challenge for 3YO and older Challenge-enrolled Quarter Horses going 330 yards. Second-favorite Oh So Chilly looks to get back in the winner's circle after two strong efforts against tough competition. Oh So Chilly (#3) was fourth in the Turf Paradise Quarter Horse Championship on December 12, and before that he was third $76K Bank of America Turf Paradise Challenge Championship (G3) on October 17. Trying to pull the upset is Sunland Park invader Splash N Six, installed at 9-to-1 on the morning line.

Sunday’s feature is the Mack and Helen Hastings Memorial for 3YO and older Quarter Horses going 300 yards. Morning-line third-favorite Db Royal Rabbit (#2) has reeled off three straight second-place finishes since winning at Yavapai Downs on July 24. He should be challenged for the win by Feature Moi (#4) and Throwdirtinyoureyes (#3).

Also on Sunday are five trials to the February 13 Rillito Park Maiden Stakes.

First post both days is 1:00 p.m.
