Freaky faces full field for Boniface tonight

Also: Piloto to work, huge Pick-6 carryover

World Champion Freaky will face multiple stakes winner Snitcher in the Grade 1 Robert L. Boniface Invitational Championship tonight, Saturday, October 16. The winner of the race earns an automatic berth to the Champion of Champions on December 11. Freaky, Jess You And I, Double Down Special, Merridoc Hawk, Spit Curl Diva, and Blues Man Too have already earned berths to the Champion of Champions.

Piloto to work

Mr Piloto, winner of the 2010 All American Futurity, will work under the lights tonight between the 7th and 8th races, according to trainer Felipe Quintero. Mr Piloto is being pointed to run in the trials to the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity, scheduled for Saturday, November 20.

Huge Pick-6 carryover

The Pick-6 carryover is just under $70,000 tonight after nobody picked all six winners on Friday night. Only one favorite won a race during the Friday night Pick-6, which included a $30.80 winner and a $29.40 winner. Five of six paid $206.00 for a $2 ticket.

First post is at 7:00 p.m., with race 5—the first of the Pick-6 races—scheduled for 8:36 p.m.

Super Derby trials on tap

Four trials to the $1 million Los Alamitos Super Derby are on Sunday night’s 10-race card (October 17). Running Brook Gal, Apolitical Jess, Divide The Cash, Triffle, Thinking Jazz, Fabulous Fifties, and Princelike are just a few of the 30 horses scheduled to compete in the trials.
