Mezoomn to stand at AVS Equine

The AQHA and AVS Equine Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida, report that Canadian champion Mezoomn will stand the 2011 season at AVS ( His fee has been set at $1,200 with considerations.

The 7-year-old son of Shazoom won 10 of 16 starts in his career and finished worse than third only once. He earned $83,837. In his freshman season, when he was the Canadian champion, Mezoomn won six of eight starts, including two stakes.

His stakes victories include the All Canadian Futurity of Alberta, Ford Canada Juvenile Challenge and Horsemen's Derby - Div. 1. He was also second in the Canada Cup Futurity (RG2), Bayer Legend Canada Derby Challenge, Alberta-Bred Derby (RG3), and Canada Cup Derby (RG3).

From five starters, Mezoomn has sired four winners, including two stakes winners, that have earned $121,272. His runners include Canada Cup Futurity (RG3) and Alberta Stallion Futurity (R) winner Poutnokey ($76,713) and Bonnet/Broden Futurity winner Shakeyobouti ($16,673), and stakes-placed runner Zoom Zoomin ($22,492).

Mezoomn was bred in Alberta by Ray Bennett and raced for Darren and Marilyn Pollitt's Shady Lane Stables. He is owned in partnership by Shady Lane Stables and Lucas Racing Inc.

Mezoomn is out of the Special Task mare Rosas Special, and is a half brother to two-time Canadian champion Its All About Speed (by Streakin La Jolla, $174,612) and stakes-placed runners Special Corona (by Corona Cartel, $10,870) and Pretty Special Boy (by Pretty Boy Perry, $17,239).

Mezoomn is an accredited Florida stallion, and all offspring from the 2011 breeding season will be accredited Florida-bred eligible, even if they are foaled outside the state of Florida. For additional information, call Dr. Steve Fisch at (850) 386-3619.
