Nolan, Proctor also recovering

Scott Stevens was moved out of the ICU on Monday, July 5, three days after he was critically injured in a spill.

"He is stable and in good spirits," according to Jeff Maday, media relations manager at Canterbury Park. "He will recover," Maday added, "but it might take a while."

Two more jockeys injured in the same incident—Paul Nolan and Don Proctor—are also recovering from their back injuries. Both are expected to return to riding within the next few weeks.
