Les Bois Park lease remains in limbo; Idaho Cup program offers options

According to its board of directors, the Idaho Thoroughbred Association (ITA) still intends to run a 2009 Idaho Cup Program. Due to the unusual circumstances this year, including the continuing saga with the Les Bois Park lease, the ITA is unsure of both the date and the venue for this event.

For Idaho Cup-eligible horses, a sustaining payment is due and must be postmarked by June 15. The ITA Board has agreed to offer two different options for ITA members who have nominated horses and made sustaining payments for the 2009 races.

  • Nominators who are still interested in participating in the 2009 Idaho Cup program must make the $250 sustaining payment and have it postmarked by Monday, June 15, 2009. Any horse for which the June 15 payment is not made will not be eligible to participate unless the nominator exercises the late payment option at the time of entry.

  • Nominators who have made other arrangements for IC-nominated horses can request a refund of the two payments already made. This option is open only to those who made both payments.

As soon as the ITA know the status of Idaho racing, particularly regarding Les Bois Park, this website and the ITA website will publish the information.

With limited office hours, the best way to contact the ITA is to send mail to ITA, P O Box 140311, Boise, ID 83714, or to call (208) 375-5930. All messages will be returned.
