More than 100 horsemen attended Wednesday night's Idaho Cup post-position draw. They were drawn to the draw by the prospect of picking their own post positions, in a “Derby-Style” draw, for the 10 Idaho Cup races on Saturday, August 9. The event was organized by the Idaho Thoroughbred Association with Tom Dougherty as host and Paul J. Schneider as announcer.

Saturday’s Idaho Cup features 10 races for Idaho-bred Thoroughbreds and Quarter Horses with total purses of $254,183.

Two horses—Fast Red Leggs and Silent Snow—have a chance to do something no horse has done: win a fourth Idaho Cup. Fast Red Leggs has the one slot in the first race of the day—the Idaho Cup Quarter Horse Maturity, where he is installed as the 4-to-5 favorite in the five-horse field. Thoroughbred Silent Snow defends his Idaho Cup Classic title in the tenth race. Silent Snow is 6-to-1 on the morning line.

Post time for Idaho Cup at Les Bois Park in Boise, Idaho, is 1:30 p.m.
