The Racing Journal is sponsoring the new six-part series EQITREKKING on Idaho Public Television. In October, host Darley Newman finds horseback adventures in Colorado and Wyoming.

On Sunday, October 7, ride championship cutting horses at a working cattle ranch in the rolling plains of Northern Colorado and explore the high mountain peaks of Durango. At the Colorado Cattle Company in Northern Colorado, participate in "Dream Week," learning to ride championship cutting horses with cutting horse expert Teddy Johnson. In Southern Colorado, ride up to over 12,000 feet with native Anne Rapp, who has been leading riders through the San Juan National Forest for over 25 years.

The following week takes viewers to Wyoming. The October 14 episode travels to the rodeo, visits wild horses, goes fly fishing and explores historic ranches on horseback. Begin at UXU Ranch for scenic and challenging riding on surefooted horses in the Shoshone National Forest. Then ride by the majestic hoodoos and up to high elevations to take in views of colorful canyons, glaciers and mountain tops.

Readers outside the IdahoPTV viewing area can check their local public television listings for air times and dates in their area, or contact their local stations to request the series.
